The Pakistan military has started a crackdown on camps that could have been used by the Taliban to stage the attack on a school in Peshawar. (Reuters)Peshawar: Pakistani police and intelligence agencies on Thursday initiated a crackdown on Afghan camps as well as on the outskirts of Peshawar city, in the aftermath of Tuesday's school carnage which left nearly 150 people dead.Suspects, believed to have provided support to the Peshawar school attackers, were arrested during the search operation, The News International reported citing sources.
The crackdown comes as the investigation into the Peshawar school attack continues. Investigation and forensic teams of the police collected evidence from the Army Public School, the target of the attack.
The investigation teams also met the eyewitnesses of the attack and recorded their statements.
A special anti-terrorism team is carrying out a probe into the attack while investigations by district police and intelligence agencies also continues.
Tuesday, Taliban gunmen stormed the Army Public School in Peshawar and carried out one of the most horrific terrorist attacks in the history of Pakistan. The ghastly attack left 141 people, mostly students, dead.
